SHIPPING
SERVICES
Central Stores ships out packages every day, including Federal
Express, UPS, and DHL. Shipping services include ground, standard
overnight, overnight, and international. Items must be properly
packaged, addressed, and accompanied by a Transfer Voucher (BO-20).
Fully completed Transfer Vouchers must be firmly attached to the
package. If required, the shipment must also include the air bill.
Packages dropped off to Central Stores by 3:00 pm are shipped out the same day. Next
day pickup service of packages for shipping may be requested via
the online Pick Up Request Form. For
emergency pickup service of same day shipments, and for shipping
hazardous, large, or heavy items, please call 486-6297.
Please note the following shipping particulars:
- Central Stores does not ship out Federal Express
ground. To send your package via Federal Express ground, please call Federal Express directly at the phone number listed on the airbill. Federal Express will come to your location and pick up the your Federal Express ground package.
- Commercial (Custom) Invoices are required for all International Federal Express and International UPS packages except for letters or other documents. You may download the blank form, Commercial Invoice. Print and complete this form. Central Stores also has blank commercial invoices available for your use.
- When sending packages via UPS, you do not need to complete an airbill. Only a transfer voucher is required.
- When sending packages via Federal Express, both an airbill and a transfer voucher are required.
Please note the following with regard to shipping returns:
- Except as indicated for Corporate Express and Fisher Scientific,
vendor returns to be shipped must be accompanied by a BO-800 form
and a Transfer Voucher (BO-20).
- Corporate Express Returns: Please visit the Corporate Express website, Program Procedures for complete instructions on returning items to Corporate Express.
- Fisher Scientific Returns : You must
call Fisher Scientific, 1-800-766-7000, to request a Return of Goods
Authorization Shipping Label. Once you have obtained the Return
of Goods Authorization Shipping Label from Fisher, please affix
it to the carton you are returning. Other than shipping your return
to Fisher, Central Stores plays no role in the processing of your
credit from Fisher. Please do NOT send your BO-800 vendor return
paperwork to Central Stores as this is unnecessary and will only
delay your obtaining the credit from Fisher. The BO-800 form for
Fisher Scientific returns is for your department's use only. Please
do not distribute copies of it to Central Stores.

If you need to track the delivery of a shipment and you know the
tracking number, you may contact the FEDEX
and UPS tracking
systems directly. For other tracking questions, please call 486-6297.
Please have the Transfer Voucher number handy.

Federal Express prepaid stamps and Airborne Express prepaid mailers
for drop-box shipments are available for sale at Central Stores
and may be ordered via the Central
Stores Internet Ordering System. These include:

Certain shipping supplies, such as blank air bills, packing material,
letter and pak envelopes, are available on request
at no charge from Central Stores.

We can sell and provide services only to University of Connecticut
Departments
and to other Connecticut State Agencies.
RECEIVING
For questions regarding shipments to be received by Central Stores,

purchase order number, vendor, carrier (if known), and tentative
delivery date.
