STORAGE SPACE
Central Stores has storage space available that is
heated, dry, and secure. The most common use for storage space is
document storage. Central Stores can accommodate storage of items
that can be safely kept on a pallet. A pallet is 40" wide by
48" deep by 48" high. It will hold 30-40 transfer files
or copy paper boxes. The boxes are stacked on top of each other
and the entire unit is shrink-wrapped.
The cost is $7.00 a pallet per month with a minimum requirement
of 6 months storage. Or $84.00 a year for the equivalent of three
(3) 5-drawer file cabinets.
With Central Stores storage, you can feel secure knowing that the
documents are on campus and easily accessible if you need them.
Access is available during normal business hours.
To reserve storage space for your department and to request pick
up of your items for storage, please submit the online Storage
Request Form.
To request access to your items already stored with us, please
complete the Storage Request Access
Form at least a day before you require access. Access
to your storage items is available during normal business hours.

Please note that departments are required to keep track of their
stored items. Central Stores does not inform customers of material
that is outdated or forgotten. To dispose of stored items and/or
to close out a storage location, send an e-mail to harold.ryan@uconn.edu.
SHOW SPACE
Central Stores has space available for vendor product
shows and department information seminars. The new warehouse contains
space ideally suited for this purpose. Vendors find our facility
ideal for setting up and demonstrating equipment of all shapes and
sizes. We have several multi-height docks and a ramp to access the
show area. With the addition of electrical outlets in the show area,
a wide variety of vendors and manufacturers can be accommodated.
Our location (behind the Police Department) is very convenient.
The new warehouse is close to the North Parking Garage, near the
campus core, and is easily accessible to facilities and purchasing
personnel.
Our rental fee is $500 for a single day event held during normal
business hours. The fee includes set up/take down of tables and
chairs: up to 60 tables and 120 chairs. Additional tables and chairs
are available at a nominal cost. If necessary, access to the area
the afternoon before an event is to take place is also included.
Publicity for your event may be coordinated with the Document Production
Center located in the New Central Warehouse building. If you wish
to provide refreshments, University Catering can satisfy your culinary
requirements, and they have table cloths and table skirts available.
